bands: "kung fu cricket" & "perran"

My focus in a band setting is to to write, record & perform good songs and to put on energetic & entertaining live shows.  " Vocal and Guitar Oriented Rock." This would include  high energy, flamboyant,  tasteful, emotional and meaningful songs played by musicians who not only care about technical excellence, but creativity and professional delivery as well. Something that fits in with today's markets without sounding like things current, something unique. Strong vocals, exceptional musicianship, & strong visual appeal.

I am lucky enough to have my own high end production studio and 2 bands. One is for business and one is for pleasure. The great thing about this situation is that BOTH are fun!!!!!

Kung Fu Cricket is the original Supercharged Modern Hard Pop Rock Machine, not a cheap copy like the others ;)

"Kung Fu Cricket is the band to watch in this new age in music entertainment. Signed to Rock Market Records and produced by Perran Lewis Davis III, Kung Fu Cricket brings a whole new level of dynamic inspiration to the world of music entertainment."

In this band, the songs mean more than chops and they are blatant "sell outs".

"Perran" is a band that mixes elements of many kinds of music: heavy, soft, melodic, progressive, and electronic textures. They aspire for excellence at every avenue. Live performance, studio recording, production, show, style, and image are all important in this organization. Dedication to extreme excellence defines "Perran". In this band songs and chops are equally important and they will in no circumstances "sell-out" (unless you count sold out shows being a "sell out".

This is what defines the band "Perran" (in no certain order):

1. Musicianship
2. Groove
3. Melody
4. Attitude
5. Strong Vocals
6. Flamboyance
7. Image
8. Songs

The band "Perran" is still looking for players! Contact us for more details!

lenny vitullidrums: lenny vitulli:

As a drummer Lenny brings all of the necessary elements to the band "Perran": grove, versatility, power, finesse, chops, timing, meter, image and above all dedication and  professionalism.

Lenny picked up his first pair of drumsticks at age eight and by the 4th grade he had already begun taking private lessons (6 years) and playing in school concert band. By high school he was performing drums and percussion kits with the jazz, marching and pep bands while also pursuing tenures outside of school playing drums with punk, indie rock, heavy metal, hardcore, concert, jazz and blues bands.

Shortly after High School he began gaining experience recording and performing with a variety of modern rock, metal and hard core bands in the Philadelphia and South Jersey areas. In addition he invested time with music internships, ownership of his own music production company, foundation and presidential nomination of a music organization on his college
campus, and the
opportunity to play well over hundred professional gigs in and around the East coast and Central United States. Throughout the years, he has also attained several awards for his musicianship and drumming skills. Most recently, he won the “World’s Fastest Drummer Drummer” competition in the metro-Boston area , clocking an astounding 783 beats per minute, or 13 beats per second, on the double bass drums. Lenny’s drumming talent has matured exceptionally over the years, as he constantly pushes himself to the limits of versatility, groove, speed, creativity, and endurance.

The consummate professional, Lenny is a focused and driven individual. He is successfully balancing the rigors of being a college student, working a part time job, owning a music promotional business, running his school organization, weightlifting, and, of course, devoting a majority of his time to the art of drumming through both endless practice and his work with Perran, Rock Market Records/Nonchalant Publishing as well as his own publishing company "Fast Feet Publishing".  A pending BMI affiliate and member of NARAS (The National Academy of the Recording Arts and Sciences: you know them as the Grammy People), Lenny is dedicated to professionalism and excellence in all that he does.

Perran is the producer, a writer, guitarist and multi-instrumentalist for the band.
Perran's vision for a band came out of a desire to create something new and exciting in the ever changing music industry.

His music experiences
include thousands of hours of recording and close to 1000 live performances. He is a BMI affiliate and a member of NARAS (the Grammy organization) and CEO of Absolute Solutions INC. (which includes Rockmarket Records and Nonchalant Publishing).

When asked about what makes a great band, Perran answered "I believe that a band should built around the strengths of its members, and that those strengths should help define the bands sound. When most bands look for members they just take whoever they can find, instead of really thinking things through and looking
for someone who really fits the vision and direction. Sure it takes more time initially, and in the end it makes more sense because it keeps a unit from self destructing. We are careful to look for the right personality that will fit in this bands vision."

"The most important element in a band is the vocalist, and I believe a band should be built around what the vocalist does well. Too many people try to force a singers voice and style adjust to the bands music, and that's all backwards. The band should adapt to the strengths of the singer, even if it means rewriting songs, arrangements etc. Same thing with the musicians. You shouldn't try and force a musician into your vision.
First look for the person and ask yourself 'What kind of personality does he/she have? What kind of character?
Do I like this person?' Once you find the right person the rest will take care of itself, IF you build around their musical strengths. In order to really make an impact in this industry you have to have something unique to offer in terms of style and substance. That's best achieved by letting the style and personalities of each person blend together."

"This band  looks to balance great musicianship with great songs, production and image. We are looking to write, record and perform music that offers something extra, something different. We take the business side very seriously and know that we have to have a great time too. When performing we are going to put on the most aggressive live show possible . You wont see this band staring at their feet, playing and dressing poorly. Were looking to rock the party, have a good time and give the fans their more than their money's worth."
